Hi Titans families,

I wanted to update everyone on the possibility of a spring tackle football season.  There are on-going conversations that there will be a shortened season.  The details should be worked out early this week.

There are two things for us to consider for the Titans.  The first is that associations want to play with a cutoff date of July 31, 2020.  This impacts our team significantly.  Half of our team would play 12U and the other half would play 10U.  In order for Cherokee to participate we would need to form 2 teams.  We are happy to do so, but we are not confident we can pull this together.  The plan is for practice to start as early as 2/15 and no later than 3/1.  Games would start early March and end no later than mid-April.

The second issue is that not all associations currently advertising spring football have committed to playing in RCYFL.  There is another conversation about an independent league that will play under different rules.  We hope that the non-RCYFL associations will join RCYFL for the spring.

In the meantime, please let me know if you are interested in playing tackle in the spring. If we can get the numbers, we can be ready to go quickly.  If you know someone else interested in playing, please reach out to them asap.  We need all the help we can get recruiting.
