Who's Ready for Some Football?!!

Hi Titan Families!

We hope everyone has been able to stay safe and healthy (physically and mentally) during the COVID-19 period.  We have been quiet during this time, but very much tracking the impact on a 2020 Fall football season.

The good news is that most of Virginia is moved into Stage 2.  This is the point where we can start getting the boys together for our Summer Skills & Conditioning (S&C) Sessions.  We had originally planned on starting 6/13.  We believe that this is still a good date to start.  The not so good news is that Trinity is within the City of Richmond limits.  As you know the City of Richmond is still in Phase 1.  So we cannot hold our sessions at Trinity until the City of Richmond moves into Phase 2.  We are thinking about an alternate location near Trinity that we should be able to use.  We’ll share that info later.

As far as the season goes, we are optimistic that we will be able to play.  We are also thinking about (creative) alternatives that we can investigate.  We want to play!

From a financial point, we need registration fees to purchase equipment needed for the season.  Registration is open.  The challenge is using registration fees to purchase equipment and not having the funds to refund, IF there is no season.  A large cost is the helmet reconditioning, which has been taken care of.  Another big cost are the jerseys, which we will need to be ordered no later than 7/15.  We are thinking that IF we need to refund fees, we could do so minus the cost of the jerseys and the jerseys would be yours to keep.  We are open to other ideas.  Please send them!

Also, if you have ever considered donating to Cherokee, now would be a great time.  We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c).  Your donation is tax deductible (please consult your tax advisor) and we do provide the required documentation for your taxes.

As we plan to start the S&C Sessions, we really need a headcount on attendance.  We will adhere to the guidelines of Phase 2, including social distancing and using hand sanitizer.  As per the guidelines, face coverings are not to be warn during the workout.

Lastly, because of unknowns at this time, the League’s group insurance policy has not been renewed for the Accidental & Medical coverage.  We will need every participant to sign a waiver prior to the sessions.  Thank you for understanding.

Please respond to this email or reach out to Coach Danny (571-205-8908) or Coach James (804-986-5130) if you want to talk.  Let us know your thoughts on participating in the S&C Sessions.

Go Titans!
